After 2 days and 6 hard fought races in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean off Miami Beach, Doug Douglass' Goombay Smash has claimed victory in the 2008 Rolex Farr 40 Pre-Worlds.  The results came down to the wire as three boats had a chance to win the regatta on the final run, but Goombay was able to barely beat out Rod Jabin's Ramrod by one point and Massimo Mezzaroma's Nerone by two.  Douglas, who is relatively new to the Farr 40, has learned the boat and the fleet quickly and should be a major player in the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship which will be contested in the same venue on on April 16-19.  Complete results, as well as mark roundings and reports from the Committee Boat can be found at www.farr40worlds.com.
