Mascalzone Latino scored two victories despite a light windy day

The opening day of the Farr 40 European Circuit - Rolex Capri Sailing Week was not so fortunate as the weather conditions put the 12 teams in competition waiting onshore until the breeze filled in at around 1.30 pm. The Race Committee was able to complete three windward/leeward races on scheduled today despite a light breeze ranging into 6 knots knots. In the second race of the day it was Twt of Marco Rodolfi, tactician Tiziano Nava to take line honours putting behind Joe Fly of Marco Rodolfi second and Mukka Express of Manfredo Toninelli third to cross the finish line. German entry Struntje Light of Wolfgang Schaefer also faired well, scoring a second, a fifth and a sixth placing herself second overall. Not a perfect day for Nerone of Stefano Leporati with Mark Reynolds calling the tactics, multiple Olympic medallist and world champion.Nanoq of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark with Anders Myralf calling the tactics scored a nice third place in the first race to fell down on eighth and respectively ninth position later.
