30th of April Farr40 European Circuit: Mascalzone still in top after day3 of The Rolex Capri Sailing Week English VersionItalian Version

One more day of Rolex Capri Sailing Week 2006

The morning of the third day of racing of Farr40 Rolex Capri sailing week organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and The Yacht Club Capri started out with unstable weather condition with a light south easterly breeze getting barely into 6 knots. But this changed in the afternoon when the wind gradually increased from 10 to 12 knots shifting south westerly and the sun came out from the clouds. The Race Committee was able to complete 2 windward leeward races today - with seven races sailed of a maximum total of nine races-for tomorrow the last day of The Rolex Capri Sailing Week there are two more race scheduled time permitting. In the first race of the day it was Mascalzone Latino of Vincenzo Onorato with Russell Coutts calling the tactics and Adrian Stead on the mainsail – to take line honours. The second to cross the finish line was the spectacular german boat Struntje Light. followed by Cannonball Medina of Dario Ferrari. His Royal Highness Prince Frederik of Denmark with Nanoq cross the line fourth .German entry Struntje Llight dominated the second race proving herself a real contender for the title and with 28 points is just 7 points behind Mascalzone Latino – scoring a fourth. TWT of Marco Rodolfi also scored well a fifth and a second with a total overall of 32 points. Carlo Alberini the new President of the Class the owner of Calvi “ Although The Rolex Capri Sailing Week is at its second edition it is becoming a prominent event bringing in scene notable sailors. We are the ones having the major number of boats and even if the weather conditions have been unstable these days we all love sailing here Tomorrow May 1 is the last day and the decisive one. Races resumes tomorrow at noon with more races in schedule and a fierce competition is underway.
