All is set in the idyllic setting of Porto Cervo, Sardinia – Italy for the start of the third series of Farr40 European Circuit which this year attracts a fleet representing 5 countries: France, Great Britan, Denmark, Germany and Italy. The event is organized by Yacht Club Smeralda and the title sponsor Rolex and runs from June 1st – June 3rd. Massimo Mezzaroma’s Nerone, Saint Tropez’s winner is coming back after having chartered his boat in Capri and will have to face a series tough competitors including Vincenzo Onoarato’s Mascalzone Latino Capri’s winner with Russell Coutss calling the tactics; Marco Rodolfi’s TWT and Giovanni Maspero’s Joe Fly. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark will be racing aboard his Nanoq joining the fleet for the third time on this 2006 European Circuit edition.La Marachella and Enfant Terribile the two this years’s surprises are on competition too. Also racing will be Struntje Light, the german boat that put in excellent performances in Capri facing Mascalzone Latino till at the last and joining the fleet for the first time this year will be Fiamma of Alessandro Barnaba and the english boat Katanga of Robin Paterson. . Carlo Alberini – the new president of the class will partecipate with Calvi. The third series of Farr40 European Circuit is not the only event on schedule this month. Costa Smeralda will host the next two important , the 14th edition of Sardina Rolex Cup 5 – 11 June – last years’s winner Nerone and Porto Rotondo – the Extra Circuit Audi Invitational – 13 – 16 June.
