First of all I am very happy with the success of this fifth edition of the Rolex Farr40 European Championship and I would like to thank our Spanish host Club Maritimo de Mahòn for their hospitality and perfect organization we all have enjoyed so much. We are all very happy to come in Menorca and find this wonderful Island.
Second, I would like to thank Mister President Luis Barca for his unconditional support and his perfect host role. The Race Committee and its President Mister Pedro Palay and also to the Jury and his President Philip Mostyn and all the stuff. You all did an absolutely perfect job we are all much appreciated.I would especially thank all of those who work so much and so well for this event, like Nacho Marra e Maria Hosè and all the staff who gave us so much of their time and capabilities to organize this special event.
But I would also especially like to thank our Partner Rolex for its support during the whole season and with whom we will sail for many miles together
As you all know this is my last day as President of the Farr40 European Class. Unfortunately I was not able to accomplish all the plans I had in mind at the beginning of the road. But at least I can definitely say that we all had a spectacular year of good quality regattas without any problem. And after all that's why we are all here.
I warmly thank Maurizio Volontè who has always been next to me in this adventure and also many thanks to Monica Pasquarelli for the perfect job she has done with the Farr40 Press Office this year.
I cannot close without thanking personally Rolex for its excellent work and I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate my successor Wolfgang Schaefer and his staff Chicco Isenburg and Fabrizio and I am perfectly sure they are going to lead us successfully through next season's adventures of this fantastic Class
